New York. - The traditional sausage-eating competition in New York buns ended today with a new record set by the 7-time champion Joey "Jaws" Chestnut, who ate 69 of these hot dogs or hot dogs.
29-year-old Chestnut managed to impose a new record in the 10 minutes it takes the traditional competition every July 4th, Independence Day in the United States, is held in the amusement park at Coney Island.
With his seventh title accrued, Chestnut managed to supplant the achievement reached by Takero "The Tsunami" Kobayashi, who racked up 2007, six titles in the competition sponsored by the restaurant Nathan's hot dogs in buns.
Meanwhile, the first place in the female category was dominated once again by Sonia "The Black Widow" Thomas, who has grabbed the first position in this competition since it was launched in the women's version three years ago.
