Hollywood certainly loves a good origin story, and sooner or later every character will either have the traditional take on their beginnings explored and re-imagined or have something cotton candy supplies freshly fashioned for their cinema outing. If he does make a deal with the studio, this certainly sounds right up Wright's filmmaking alley. Whilst he's best known for his big costume dramas such as Anna Karenina (2012) and Pride & Prejudice (2005), he has also shown an ability to hop genres, such as Saoirse Ronan actioner Hanna (2011). Assuming the project goes ahead, it'll be competing against an adaption by Alice In Wonderland (2010) producer Joe Roth at Sony Pictures, and a Pan prequel with Gary Ross (The Hunger Games) attached, Peter And The Starcatchers, at Disney.
