Joyce Meyer is a non-denominational Charismatic Christian speaker who owns several homes and travels around the world in a private jet. Calling herself a “preacher,” the stated goal of her “mission” is to feed the hungry, rescue women from human trafficking, translate her books, and show people that they are cared for. Along the way, she typically claims that ten or twenty percent of the people who attend her conferences get saved. But, her gospel is a social gospel doing humanitarian work hoping that someone beavertails will ask to be witnessed to. Scriptural missions is the man of God preaching the word of God and planting beavertails churches, not a woman of God feeding the hungry and hoping they ask questions about the Lord.
Her web site, Joycemeyer.org, promotes ungodly Contemporary Christian Music artists such as Matt Redman (who was featured at the 2014 SBC Conference in Baltimore, and gets his inspiration from The Beatles). The doctrinal statement on her site promotes divine healing, spiritual gifts, and Holy Spirit baptism beavertails in addition to water baptism. It sends readers to verses taken from the corrupt Amplified Bible.
Finding the gospel on this web site is almost beavertails impossible, unless you already know the gospel and look for something like it in the vast array of promotional material. When you find it, the message is watered down and very vague, excluding a need to call upon the Lord Jesus Christ and merely saying you need to “accept” Him. There is no emphasis whatsoever on repentance, discipleship, church, or God s plan for evangelism. It is almost as if salvation is an afterthought.
The real focus of the Joyce Meyer “ministry” is to promote self care and self pity. It is all about “YOUR life,” “making beavertails YOU happy,” and that “YOU have what it takes…”. Her message appeals to the person who is self absorbed, and wants to be the center of it all. It is egocentric rather beavertails than Christ centered. It is out of balance – about how Christ can serve me, not how I can better serve Christ.
If Joyce Meyer were only the manager of a large secular organization which fed the hungry and did humanitarian work, that would not be such a problem. When she makes herself a so-called Bible preacher and teacher of doctrine, and claims to be leading tens of thousands to salvation in almost every conference (which beavertails is a lie), it is clear that her work is anything but acceptable to the Lord or His word.
But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. II Peter 2:1
We reject the ministry and false teaching of Joyce Meyer as it crosses beavertails from simple beavertails humanitarian aid into preaching the word of God, and we encourage you to separate from all those who, like her, disregard the Bible as they say and do only what pleases them and promotes their own agenda.
